Well, as the last course I would ever be taking as a student, I am taking “Teaching in Higher Education”. Ironic.
My section is organized by Prof. Tony Key, from the Physics Department and thus I have submitted all of my assignments on teaching physics! Tony has the perfect aura of a teacher/scientist and I am now ashamed that I didn’t take his “Effective Communication for Physicists” and took “Advanced Classical Mechanics” from math instead, doh!
The students are all 4th-5th year PhD students and come from all sorts of disciplines. We are also arranged into groups for two mini-teaching sessions. In the first one I talked for 10 minutes about the “Poincare Recurrence Theorem”, something that people actually could relate to!
But tomorrow, I am going to talk about the physics of photography, as a challenge.
Back to powerpoint now.
I know powerpoint sucks, but have no time to learn flash
